Dark Poetry Anthology

Danse Macabre

FunDead Publications is currently accepting submissions for a forthcoming poetry anthology, Death Poetic.  The theme is, obviously, death!  All submissions must be on the subject of death or dying.  We are looking for well-written, lyrical pieces.  While we welcome all types of poems, we do specifically like rhyming poems for this particular anthology, think The Highwayman or Annabel Lee.  We are going for a theme, classical in nature that is more focused in the beauty of the end of life.

Instructions: Send your submission to DearFunDead@gmail.com for consideration with “Death Poetic Submission” as the subject line, but please read our guidelines below!

Content Requirements:  Poems must revolve around the subject of death or dying.  While we do prefer rhyming poetry for this particular anthology, all forms of poetry will be considered.  We’d like to try to keep pieces below 1500 words each, so please keep this in mind as you write.

Required Information:  Please include your first and last name, phone number, e-mail address, and mailing address on your submission.  When sending us your poem, please include information about yourself and your writing/publishing history in the body of the e-mail, as well as any other relevant information.

Payment:  Accepted submissions will be awarded payment in the way of $5 upon printing. It may not be much, but we are a small and humble press just getting our start and it’s all we can offer at this time besides a little social media promotion and beyond. If your submission is accepted, you will also receive a printed copy of the anthology! Anyone wishing for extra copies to distribute to family and friends (or to sell on their own) will pay the flat, wholesale price plus shipping.

Response Time: Please be aware that it may be six to eight weeks before you receive a response from FunDead Publications.

Diversity Statement: We at FunDead Publications believe diversity is what makes fiction wonderful and unique and we welcome submissions from writers of every race, religion, nationality, gender, and sexual orientation.

    • Unfortunately, we don’t always have time to respond every time we receive a submission due to the high level of stories we are receiving. We will always send you a response once the story has been read, one way or another. The last six to eight weeks has seen an influx in submissions, so we might be a little slower to the draw at the moment.
