What was your favorite childhood horror reading?

screen-shot-2014-02-14-at-13-41-02Answer FunDead’s Patreon Poll and tell us what kind of horror you liked to read as a kid! I was partial to Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark, but I also really enjoyed all of R.L.Stine’s vast works. Then there’s In a Dark, Dark Room! This isn’t an easy decision, folks. Let us know your answer at the link below (poll is open to the public!)

  1. Interesting question, Amber. I guess it depends on how I (or you) define childhood, because I didn’t read horror/scary stories until I was probably about 11 or 12. But, and I don’t see these on the poll, at the time I enjoyed Christopher Pike’s books, but I graduated fairly quickly from those into full-blown ‘adult’ horror, from King, Koontz, and Barker to Poe, Saul, and others. And again, as an adult, I’ve discovered some I wish I’d known back then, such as Shirley Jackson and Joyce Carol Oates, as well as ‘newer’ authors like Priya Sharma!
